To set up the contract, I navigate to the construction contract page. Since this is the first time we are creating a contract, we need to provide the project number. I input the number manually, and all the relevant information populates automatically. I am opting for an approved status for the contract. The previous budget is already included in the system. Now, I add a couple of lines to the contract. For demonstration purposes, I enter a mobilization cost of $100,000 on one line, and an engineering cost on the other line, which matches our previous change order. I repeat this process for the remainder of the contract value. Although there is no previous percentage, I decide to input a percentage for billing purposes. The first line will be billed at 50%, while the second line will be billed at 40%. As I enter these percentages, the calculations are updated in the working space. For example, a 40% billing on a $100,000 line amounts to $40,000. By refreshing the page, we can review the retention, which is set at 10%. Therefore, a retention of $4,000 is deducted from the scheduled values, resulting in a net amount of $233. To proceed, I generate an application in draft status.
